A Veeshift Platform Standard for Independent Professionals

This article explains what a DNR means for your Veeshift account, how DNRs are tracked across the platform, how many put your account at risk, and what happens at each step. These are platform-wide standards every independent professional agrees to as part of the Veeshift Terms of Service. Read carefully so you understand where you stand and how to respond if you receive one.

What counts as a DNR

A Do Not Return is registered when a facility you've worked with asks that you not be scheduled there again. It reflects that facility's decision about its own coverage โ€” a DNR is facility-initiated feedback, not something you trigger yourself.

A single DNR closes future shifts at that one facility. On its own, it does not decide your standing anywhere else. What matters for your account is your full DNR history across all facilities, not any single request.

How DNRs affect your account

Veeshift tracks DNRs across all facilities, not just one:

  • 4 or more DNRs across any facilities on the platform puts your account at risk of removal from Veeshift.
  • Removal is entirely automatic. Once a provider hits the threshold, the system immediately triggers the action.
  • The age of your DNRs is considered. A DNR from two or more years ago may be weighed differently than a recent one.
  • Patterns in shift type, location, or facility may also be reviewed as part of the full picture.

What you'll hear at each DNR milestone

You'll receive a message at each milestone so you always know where your account stands.

Removal notification

1 DNR โ€” Informational notice

  • You're notified that a DNR was filed so you're aware.
  • No action is required.

2 DNRs โ€” Advisory and invitation to connect

  • You're informed that you're approaching the threshold.
  • Support is offered so you can address any concerns early.

3 DNRs โ€” Final notice

  • You're informed that your account has reached the review threshold.
  • An account review is initiated by the Veeshift team.

4 DNRs โ€” Removal notification

  • You're notified when your account has reached the threshold of 4 Do Not Return (DNR) records from unique facilities. As a result, your account has been automatically removed.
  • If a compelling mitigating context is provided after the removal event, Veeshift may decide to maintain or restrict your account instead of removing it โ€” but removal is the default outcome at this stage.

What the account review looks at

When your account is reviewed, the Veeshift team considers the totality of your record, including:

  • All DNRs on file, including the dates and the facilities that filed them.
  • The age of each DNR and any patterns across shift type, location, or facility.
  • Any prior support interactions or documented context.

Operations retains discretion to maintain, restrict, or remove platform access based on the full review.

Why this policy exists

Veeshift's marketplace works because facilities trust that the providers they schedule will be the right fit for their unit. A DNR is how a facility tells us that trust broke down. One DNR is treated as a single data point โ€” units differ, and fit isn't always there.

A pattern of DNRs across multiple facilities tells a broader story about how shifts are going, and that's what the platform pays attention to. The milestone path exists so you're never caught off guard: you hear from us early, you're offered support along the way, and no account is removed without a person reviewing the full picture first.

Important reminders

  • This is a platform standard. Your access to shifts on Veeshift is based on platform engagement and reliability. The DNR milestones are marketplace mechanics.
  • Your account status is based on your full DNR history across the platform, not any single facility.
  • DNRs are tracked, not erased. Older DNRs may carry less weight, but they stay on your record and are considered as part of the full picture.
  • Being removed from the Veeshift platform affects your access to the platform only. As an independent contractor (1099), removal is not a termination of employment and does not create or change any employment relationship.
  • If you believe a DNR was filed in error, contact support so it can be reviewed.

A final note

Veeshift's marketplace works because facilities trust that the providers will show up and be the right fit for the shift.

Be reliable, communicate when a shift isn't the right fit, and reach out if a DNR ever looks wrong. The marketplace rewards reliability.
