Provider Conduct & Professionalism Policy

Provider Conduct & Professionalism Policy

A VeeShift Platform Standard for Independent Professionals

The professionals on our platform represent VeeShift at every facility they walk into. Facilities trust us to send providers who are competent, respectful, and professional โ€” and residents depend on it.

This policy explains what professional conduct means on VeeShift, what happens if a facility reports a concern, and how those reports can affect your account. These are platform-wide standards every independent professional agrees to as part of the VeeShift Terms of Service.

๐Ÿค What professional conduct means on VeeShift

Whenever you accept a shift through VeeShift, you agree to provide care in a competent, safe, and professional manner, with due skill, care, and diligence.

In practice, that means treating facility staff, residents, families, and the VeeShift team with respect and conducting yourself in a way that supports quality resident care.

๐Ÿšซ What counts as unprofessional conduct

The following are examples โ€” this list isn't exhaustive:

  • Abusive, profane, threatening, or harassing language toward facility staff, residents, families, or the VeeShift team

  • Disrespectful, disruptive, or insubordinate behavior that interferes with facility operations or resident care

  • Refusing to follow reasonable direction from facility supervisors, or to comply with the facility's standards, policies, and procedures

  • Behavior that puts resident safety, dignity, or quality of care at risk

  • Any conduct that falls short of the professional standard you agreed to in the Terms of Service

โš–๏ธ How a conduct complaint affects your account

When a facility reports a concern about unprofessional conduct, VeeShift reviews it on a case-by-case basis. Unlike some policies, conduct issues aren't measured by a simple count โ€” we look at what happened, how serious it was, and the full context.

Facilities can raise a concern for up to 20 days after a shift.

Depending on the facts, a report may lead to no action, a warning, a restriction on your account, a temporary freeze on platform access while we look into it, or removal from the platform.

๐Ÿ“‹ What happens after a facility reports a concern

You'll be kept informed at each step:

Step

What happens

What you'll hear

Report received

We log the facility's report and begin a case-by-case review

You may be contacted for your account of what happened

Temporary freeze (only if warranted)

For more serious concerns, we may pause your platform access while we review

You'll be notified if a freeze is placed, and why

Review

We consider the facts from all sides

We may reach out for additional information

Outcome

We decide on a proportionate outcome

You'll receive notice of the decision and the reason

๐Ÿ“Š Possible outcomes

Outcome

When it may apply

No action

The report isn't substantiated, or the issue was minor and isolated

Account restriction

A pattern of concerns, or moderate-severity conduct

Temporary freeze / suspension

A serious concern, or while we investigate

Removal from platform

Severe misconduct, or repeated substantiated conduct

๐Ÿ” What a review looks at

  • The facility's report and any supporting detail

  • The nature and severity of the conduct

  • Whether it's part of a pattern or a first, isolated issue

  • Your response and perspective, where relevant

  • The impact on residents, staff, and facility operations

๐Ÿ’ก Why this policy exists

Facilities choose VeeShift because they trust the professionals we send. Unprofessional conduct puts that trust โ€” and resident care โ€” at risk, and it affects every provider on the platform.

This policy keeps our standards clear and consistent, so facilities keep opening shifts and the professionals who show up and do great work keep getting them.

๐Ÿ” Important Reminders

  • Removal from VeeShift affects platform access only. Because you're an independent (1099) professional, it is not an employment termination.

  • These standards apply at every facility, on every shift.

  • Professionalism includes how you communicate โ€” in person and through the platform.

  • When in doubt, follow the facility's direction and reach out to VeeShift support.
