How to Update Your ETA
How to Update Your ETA
Running late? Read this first. A facility booked you for this shift. You committed to the start time, and you should not show up late. Selecting that you are running late tags the shift as a late arrival, and late arrivals affect your rating and your account.
The moment you select that you will be late, your phone must be on and you must answer. The VeeShift team calls for a real-time update inside your window, and especially after it. If you do not answer, VeeShift treats you as unreliable and posts a replacement shift. If someone picks that shift up, you are automatically late cancelled, no matter which option you chose.
Tell the facility
- Open the shift from your schedule.
- Scroll to Running Late and tap ETA Update.
- Under ETA Update - I'll arrive, choose one option:
- less then 15 min late
- between 15–30 min late
- 30+ min late → Late Cancellation (Policy)
- Tap Save Values.
Your ETA then shows on the shift, and the app notifies the facility automatically every time you update it.
There is no option for arriving more than 30 minutes late. More than 30 minutes means cancel now. 30+ min late is a late cancellation, with the same liability. More than 24 hours before the shift, you can release it with no penalty. Inside 24 hours, it is a late cancellation.
If none of the options fit, select the closest one first, then call VeeShift support. Not getting through is not a reason to skip it, show up late, or select nothing. Always select something first.
If your window passes and you still have not clocked in, you get a notification to update your ETA. Update it every time it changes. When VeeShift calls, the team sends the facility your exact ETA. Chatting the facility yourself is extra. It does not replace the ETA update.
Do nothing and the system marks you a no-call, no-show. That penalty is larger than a late cancellation, and your account is automatically deactivated and frozen.
