How to Create Shift Groups

In this video, we will learn how to create shift groups, also known as block book shifts. Follow these steps to efficiently manage your scheduling process.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Access the Calendar:

Navigate to the calendar where you typically post new shifts.

  2. Create a New Shift:

Click on "New Shift" located on the right side of the screen.

  3. Enter Scheduled Shift Time:

In the shift modal, enter the scheduled shift time in the designated field. Select a start time and add an end time.

  4. Select a Role:

Click to choose a role and select a role from the drop-down menu.

  5. Set Recurring Shifts:

On the left, click the repeat shift icon. In the recurring shift modal, select the days of the week to repeat the shift.

  6. Define Shift Group Duration:

Select the field next to "after occurrences" and enter the number of shifts you want to fill for this shift group, or select a date for the shift group to end. Note: This is for shifts with the same start and end time.

  7. Create Shift Group:

Check the box for "create shift group" and "enforce same assignee."

  8. Save the Shift Group:

Click the "Save" button in the top right corner of the page. A success notification will appear at the bottom of the screen.

  9. View Posted Shifts:

Click out of the shift pop-up. You will see all shifts posted, and for providers on their mobile app, it will appear for them to claim all at once.

  10. Look Up Created Shift Groups:

Under "Shift Insights," go to "Shift Groups." Here you will see a record of all shift groups created, along with the start and end times of the group of shifts.

Thank you for watching, and happy and successful scheduling!
