When you need immediate coverage, **Urgent Shifts** allow you to increase the provider pay rate to attract more interest and fill the spot fast. Whether it’s a weekend, last-minute call-off, or overnight need, this is your go-to solution to avoid gaps in care.

### 💡 What Are Urgent Shifts?

Urgent Shifts are regular open shifts with an **increased pay rate** of **$4, $6, or $8** added to attract providers faster. This rate bump is **visible to all providers** and designed to help ensure quicker pickup.

### 🛠️ When to Use Urgent Shifts:

- Shift posted with **short notice** (same day or less than 24 hours)
- **High cancellation risk** or previous provider dropped the shift
- **Weekend**, **holiday**, or **overnight** coverage
- Shift has been open for a while with **no responses**

### ✅ How to Activate an Urgent Shift:

You have two options:

1. **Your facility admin can update the rate directly in the app**
2. Or, your admin can **authorize the VeeShift team** to apply the urgent rate for you

Choose from **$4, $6, or $8** increments, depending on the urgency and role.
